Reports have claimed that one top side currently competing in the Champions League would consider a bid from Chelsea for their striker if one comes in.
According to SportsLens, Inter Milan would at least weigh up the possibility of selling Lautaro Martinez if the Blues put in a bid that meets their valuation for him.
Martinez has been a long time target for Chelsea in the striker position, and there interest has not wavered since Mauricio Pochettino took charge of the club.
In fact, it has been claimed that the Argentine sees his countryman as one of the best strikers in world football, which is certainly a sign of endorsement in a deal.
It has been no secret that the Blues are keen to add a striker to their ranks to solve the goalscoring issues that have still plagued them going into this season.
The report goes on to say that the valuation of Martinez is in the region of £80m, although their financial situation has left them in a situation where they would have to consider big bids for their top players.
Inter would consider Martinez bid
Chelsea have been strongest linked to the signing of another striker from Serie A though. They are long-term admirers of Nigerian international Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
Despite the fact that he has recently signed a new contract with the reigning Italian champions, it is believed that this is instead in order to ensure they receive a good fee for his sale.
Another player they have been linked to is Ivan Toney from Brentford, with him set to return to action later this month after his suspension.
The Blues and Arsenal are the clubs strongest linked with the move for the Englishman, however it is probably more likely he sees out the rest of the season at Brentford.
