Celtics star could make a comeback on Thursday against the Hawks
The Boston Celtics will get their shot at retaliation on Thursday after paying a price for losing concentration and letting up and dropping a 30-point lead in their 120-118 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
Jrue Holiday may also make a comeback in the second half of this miniseries at State Farm Arena. Due to a right AC joint strain, which the team has documented on its injury reports, the two-time All-Star has missed the C’s previous five games.
But the Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn claims that the former UCLA Bruin worked out on Wednesday. He is now considered questionable for Thursday’s game by the Celtics.
Al Horford’s left big toe strain is another reason why they have him listed as questionable on their injury report. In the game on Monday, the 16-year-old veteran finished with seven points, nine rebounds, a steal, and a block.
Jaden Springer’s left knee tendinopathy casts him in doubt. The 21-year-old native of North Carolina made many plays on defense in Monday’s closing frame, traveling coast to coast. He also pulled down a long rebound and finished a difficult layup. The following night, the former Tennessee Volunteer dressed for the Maine Celtics.
Because of swelling in his left knee, Xavier Tillman, who did not participate in the first half of this miniseries, is also doubtful of being available.
The game versus the Hawks on Thursday is scheduled to begin at 7:30 EST.
