Mauricio Pochettino could shuffle the Chelsea starting lineup following the Blues’ disappointing defeat against Newcastle last weekend.
Chelsea have dropped a cryptic team news hint on social media ahead of their clash against Brighton. Enzo Fernandez and Raheem Sterling have already suggested that they could be involved in some capacity after posting an intriguing pre-match graphics to their respective Instagram stories.
Now, the Blues have suggested that two more players could also be involved. Moises Caicedo and Levi Colwill have been included on the club’s pre-match poster which has been shared on Facebook, Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter.
While Fernandez, Sterling, Caicedo and Colwill were the only players to feature, it does not necessarily mean that they’ll start. But, historically, it usually means that they’ll be involved in some capacity.
Ahead of what is expected to be a goal frenzy in west London, Pochettino was asked if the Blues have a psychological advantage over the Seagulls after defeating them in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season. The 51-year-old replied: “It’s not the opponent. It was Tottenham, it was Manchester City and it was Newcastle.
“Maybe most likely to take points against Newcastle because they were playing three days before a tough game against Paris Saint-Germain and then we beat Tottenham and an amazing game against Manchester City and then we lost against Newcastle.
We are our own worst enemies and we need to be focused on us. If we are in a good place, then for sure we will compete in a good way. We are going to pay attention [to Brighton], but at the moment in this process, I think we need to pay more attention to ourselves rather than the opponent.”
