It was an entertaining weekend of Premier League football, where we saw 35 goals and – most importantly – a massive win for Newcastle United.
Our 1-0 win over the Red Devils meant we leapfrogged Man Utd, Aston Villa dropped points with a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth, Spurs got a point at Man City, Chelsea beat Brighton 3-2 and Liverpool scored two late goals in a 4-3 win over Fulham.
After all of that, the bookies have reacted and released their latest top-four odds, where they are currently backing Eddie Howe’s Newcastle to beat Spurs, Villa, Chelsea and Man Utd to another Champions League finish, with Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool all priced at tiny odds for the top-four. Liverpool – 1/9 (1.11)
Newcastle – 6/5 (2.20)
Spurs – 5/2 (3.25)
Aston Villa – 5/2 (3.25)
Chelsea – 11/2 (6.50)
Man Utd – 11/2 (6.50)

A lot can change in football – the picture could no doubt look very different at the end of this hectic December schedule – but it’s a positive sign. If injuries dry up and we sign well in January, there’s no reason why we can’t beat the likes of Spurs, Villa, Chelsea and Man Utd to that fourth spot.
