Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane has revealed the toughest defenders he has faced in his career, which includes a Chelsea legend.
WHAT HAPPENED?
For the past 10 years, Kane has been one of the top strikers and top goalscorers in world football, regularly delivering outstanding performances for both club and nation. The English striker left Tottenham Hotspur – where he spent his formative years – in the summer to join Bayern Munich on a permanent deal. In an interview with ESPN, the Bayern Munich ace listed Euro 2020 opponent Giorgio Chiellini and Chelsea great John Terry as two of his hardest opponents to date.
WHAT KANE SAID
Harry Kane said in the interview: “The toughest defenders I’ve faced? Yeah, I faced John Terry early in my career and I thought he was, you know, the reason he is one of the best defenders in the world. Really smart, really intelligent. And then, Chiellini, you know, against Italy, against Juve. He was really tough to play against, again really smart, used his body well, strong, good in the air, so, I’ll probably go with them two.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Chelsea legend Terry has rightfully been remembered as one of the greatest defenders in the history of the Premier League, with his achievements in the game matched by few. Meanwhile, Chiellini, who is still an active player with LAFC, is considered one of the smartest and most physically dominant defenders in the history of the game.
