An ex-Liverpool player criticizes Arteta for joining Arsenal, saying that if things don’t work out, we “may never see him again.”

Stevie Nicol, a former Liverpool player, claimed he ‘doesn’t understand’ why Arsenal acquired Kai Havertz this summer from Chelsea.

A number of additions are anticipated from Mikel Arteta ahead of the upcoming season as he aims to build on his outstanding 2022–23 campaign.

After agreeing to a £65 million price with Chelsea on Wednesday, Havertz’s arrival at Arsenal was officially announced. When on his game, the 24-year-old is without a doubt a great player.

But he did have some issues last year.He represented Chelsea in 35 Premier League games overall. He contributed one assist and seven goals during the process.

The Blues team as a whole struggled to perform, despite these not-so-great numbers.

Additionally, he was forced to play as a center-forward for the majority of the season. But in the past, he usually acted as a winger or offensive midfielder.

It will be intriguing to see how he fits into Arsenal’s starting lineup in light of this. If Arteta does decide to include him right away,

Nicol: I fail to understand why Havertz is moving to Arsenal,

Nicol has now commented on Havertz’s transfer to Arsenal. He believes the German will find it challenging to overcome.

Arteta might go ‘you know what, I have made a big mistake. This isn’t going to work’.

“If he plays four, five or six games and, all of a sudden, Arteta goes ‘well, you know what, this isn’t too bad going forward, but defensively teams are getting at us for fun.

“I am going to change something here’. I am (negative towards it) because I don’t understand the signing.”

So, it will be interesting to see if Havertz can prove Nicol wrong. Arsenal fans will certainly be hoping so.
