After Szoboszlai, Liverpool are speeding up their attempts to sign ‘fantastic’ 22-year-old

Liverpool is moving quickly to reach a deal with OGC Nice in order to sign Khephren Thuram.

Agent talks occurred in early June, suggesting that the Reds have been in contact with Thuram for the past month or so. But despite the fact that Liverpool conducted business in the intervening weeks, nothing regarding Thuram has advanced.

But, according to writer Rudy Galetti on, things might soon change. Galetti claimed that Liverpool are working hard to finalize a deal in a tweet on Saturday night.

According to the Italian reporter, Liverpool is moving Khephren Thuram’s case along quickly. “LFC wants to overtake OGC Nice quickly to get a jump on Newcastle, who are starting to make concrete moves for the player:

With the Reds already on the verge of pipping Newcastle to Dominik Szoboszlai, they’ll be looking for another victory in the market.

Liverpool make Thuram push

Prior to Thursday, Thuram had still looked like being the next signing through the door at Anfield. But after news broke of Liverpool’s interest in Szoboszlai, things have moved very quickly away from that notion.

Now, it looks nailed on that the Hungarian will become summer signing number two for Jurgen Klopp.

There’s an anticipation that the move may even be finalised and announced over the weeked.

So, where does all that leave Thuram? Well, early reports seem to suggest that Liverpool are still keen on bringing in the Frenchman. Szoboszlai’s imminent arrival doesn’t appear to have changed that.

If that really is the case, then Reds supporters have every right to get very excited indeed.

The 22-year-old has been described as being a ‘fantastic’ player by former Nice coach Didier Digard [RMC Sport]. Thuram looks to have a complete skillset for a modern day midfielder.

But Newcastle shouldn’t be taken lightly here. Having missed out on Szoboszlai, they are reportedly intent on securing Thuram instead. With plenty of background work already done though, Liverpool need to keep their foot firmly on the pedal. Let’s get another one wrapped up!
