After a fantastic performance in Spain, Marquez gets momentum in the French MotoGP.
Renowned for his incredible performance in Spain, where he finished second in an exciting fight with two-time defending champion Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez is full of confidence going into the French MotoGP race.
The 31-year-old is nevertheless cautiously hopeful about his prospects of winning a seventh world championship.
Due to injuries and vision problems, Marquez has had setbacks in recent years, which has caused some people to question whether he would ever reach his best.
But a crucial turning point in his recovery was his pole position and unrelenting pursuit of Bagnaia at the Jerez circuit while riding a satellite Ducati-Gresini.
This accomplishment represents his best performance since coming in second in the October 2022 Australian MotoGP.
“I won, in terms of my plan, in the path I have in my head, and I am getting better and better,” Marquez stated.
“Now I must maintain my consistency from the last few races.”
After four races, Marquez, whose 59th and final victory came at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in October 2021, is only 32 points behind series leader Jorge Martin.
He downplays any discussion about him challenging for the crown, though.
He declared, “It is way too early for me.” “It’s not that I don’t want to win the title; I just know that I will have a lot of difficulties on a few tracks, so it’s too early to consider that.
“We shall see, but for the moment it is necessary to approach the races like that.”
Calm down.
However, Marquez is taken aback when he trails his fellow countryman Martin, who rides a Ducati-Pramac, by little more than thirty points.
“I am really surprised because I had a terrible start to the campaign,” he stated.
That implies that we are pushing the envelope, that there will be plenty of zeros, and that the fight for the top spot will be extremely tight.
“For me, it is already a source of pride to be battling with the Ducati leaders.”
For Ducati factory rider Bagnaia, who hadn’t triumphed since the season’s opening event in Qatar, Jerez was equally important. Now, he is only 17 points behind Martin.
