According to reports, a former Alabama guard will visit Kentucky.

According to On3’s Joe Tipton, former Kansas and Alabama guard Rylan Griffen is scheduled to visit Kentucky next week.

The 6-foot-5 junior is back in the transfer portal after spending one season at Kansas. Griffen began his college career at Alabama, where he played in 73 games and started 33 from 2022 to 2024. During the 2024-25 season, he started 20 games for the Jayhawks but took on a reduced role compared to his final year with the Crimson Tide.

His playing time dipped from 26.3 minutes per game to 20.2, and his scoring average fell from 11.2 to 6.3 points. Griffen also saw a decline in shooting efficiency, hitting 33.6% of his three-point attempts at Kansas after connecting on 39.2% from deep at Alabama. Like many of his teammates, Griffen had trouble finding his rhythm during a tough year for the Jayhawks, who suffered 13 losses—their most in a single season since 1982-83.

With Mark Pope looking to overhaul his roster after his first season in Lexington, Kentucky has been very active in the transfer market—and Griffen could be a key target.
