During the Oscars, Larry Bird appears in a “funny” Allstate ad.
Larry Bird, a legendary member of the Boston Celtics and NBA Hall of Famer, has returned to the public eye following the airing of a humorous ad during Sunday night’s Oscars.
In the most recent AllState ad, Bird was paired with “Mayhem,” who was making trouble in Bird’s attic at his house.
“I’m a bird stuck in Larry Bird’s attic, and I’m going coo-coo!” Says Mayhem
Bird begins to wreck havoc in his attic, swiping at Mayhem with a lacrosse stick and knocking off his item in the process. “What the heck,” Bird exclaims downstairs as he reads a newspaper. As all the Allstate commercials feature Mayhem.
Mayhem made fun of Bird, saying, “You might be a legend on the court, but you’re an amateur up here.”
As Bird pursued his target, things took a sharp turn for the worst when he struck the incorrect floorboard and crashed through the roof.
With Bird’s legs hanging from the ceiling, Mayhem exits the house through the attic stairs.
Social media was used by Oscar spectators to express their support for Bird.
“Larry Bird in the Allstate commercial, too funny,” a user on X said.
“Oh, that Larry Bird Allstate commercial was hilarious,” said a more person.
Bird normally stays out of the spotlight, although since he retired playing basketball, he has been known to appear in a few commercials.
With three NBA titles with the Celtics, three consecutive seasons as league MVP, ten All-NBA honors, and twelve All-Star selections, Bird’s accomplishments speak for themselves.
