TJ Watt responds to losing out on Defensive Player of the Year in five words.

With 19.0 sacks during the 2023 regular season, T.J. Watt led the NFL, although he didn’t receive any recognition for his efforts.

Although the linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers was selected to the first team of the All-Pro and Pro Bowl, he came in second in the NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Myles Garrett, a defensive end for the Cleveland Browns, was named the first-ever NFL Honors recipient on Thursday.

Nothing unfamiliar to me,” he wrote.

With 22.5 sacks in a single season in 2021, Watt tied the NFL record and won Defensive Player of the Year. However, he topped the league in sacks for the third time in the previous four seasons. Despite recording NFL highs of 15.0 sacks and 23 tackles for loss in 2020, Watt lost out on votes to Los Angeles Rams standout Aaron Donald.

In addition, Watt’s older brother, three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt, offered other statistics showing that Watt outperformed Garrett.
