Basketball now includes a pre-season, regular season, post-season, and what many call the roster-building season. Duke, for instance, already has commitments from recruits Cameron and Cayden Boozer and Nikola Khamenia, as well as transfers Cedric Coward and Ifeanyi Ufochukwu. Still, Jon Scheyer and his coaching staff are likely looking to add more talent.

Recently, Duke hosted Braydon Hawthorne and Sebastian Wilkins for visits. Wilkins, currently in the 2026 class, has the option to reclassify, which would make him an appealing late addition for any program.
He just wrapped up an official visit to Duke and shared his thoughts on X, saying, “Had a great official visit at Duke University!!” He also posted pictures, including one with his parents and a few taken inside Cameron Indoor Stadium.
With Shelton Mitchell no longer in the picture, there are open minutes to be claimed. Time will tell how Scheyer chooses to fill them—possibly sooner rather than later.
