As they say in sports, “You really don’t have any quarterbacks if you have two.” This might apply to the Pittsburgh Steelers as well. The team isn’t even sure who should start at quarterback in 2024—Mason Rudolph, Kenny Pickett, or a different competitor.
Pickett, the team’s 20th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, would seem to be the obvious pick to address the position for a number of years to come. However, like the Steelers discovered the previous season, his performance fell short of his draft pedigree. It is now anticipated that the Steelers will face competition for their previous first-round selection.
However, a legendary former Steeler disagrees that Pittsburgh’s quarterback situation is as dire as most believe.
