IN 2025, THE WORLD SENIORS DARTS CHAMPIONSHIP WILL RETURN, BUT WITH MANY MORE RULES FOR DARTS LEGENDS

The World Seniors Darts Championship will return in 2025, according to a statement from the World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT). The dates of this episode are February 20–22.

The competition has been abbreviated by one day, and the number of competitors has been lowered from 32 to 24. It’s not the only modification. The majority of the time, players will have to earn their spots in the competition.

26 of the 32 starting berths in the most recent World Seniors Darts Championship were awarded by wildcards. Darts legends will only receive four additional wildcards for the World Seniors Darts Championship in 2025.

With immediate effect, the current Order of Merit will be regarded as the official global ranking at the WSDT, according to an announcement made by the organization. An invitation to compete in the World Seniors Darts Championship will be extended to the top 12 players in this ranking at the conclusion of 2024.

Four players will also be able to compete through the Open Series Order of Merit, while four further qualifying tournaments are scheduled for January 2025. Invitations will be sent out to determine the remaining four starting positions. Well-known figures from the past still have a slim possibility of competing through this path because they are not falling down the ranking cycle.
