Almost inevitable’ — Liverpool transfer target close to leaving club, could be a Mason Mount alternative

The most recent information about Liverpool’s summer transfer window search for new midfielders

Although Liverpool’s chase of Mason Mount from Chelsea may have ended, the team is still looking for fresh midfielders. Although Alexis Mac Allister is still expected to join the Reds from Brighton this summer, Jurgen Klopp is also looking at other possibilities.

According to the most recent information on Ryan Gravenberch, he is most likely leaving Bayern Munich after battling for a while. According to journalist Kerry Hau (via Soccer News), a transfer’seems almost probable’ despite the midfielder joining from Ajax only last summer.

Since his transfer to the Bundesliga, Gravenberch has played seldom and mostly in cameo roles. Although he became a nearly constant presence with Ajax, the 21-year-old is ready to assume a more regular position, but it doesn’t appear a likely outcome under Thomas Tuchel.

According to the report from Hau, Liverpool has been mentioned as Gravenberch’s “likely destination” if Tuchel doesn’t provide a clear strategy for the Dutchman’s future.

The Reds are undoubtedly interested in the midfielder and have already spoken with him about signing this summer. In fact, to close a deal, both Liverpool and Newcastle are willing to spend around €50 million (£43 million). Both organizations are said to have “already made proposals,” therefore the question is who can reach a better agreement with the player and the club.
