A New Duke Basketball Star Has Been Inducted into the Hall of Fame

Jared McCain, a beloved Duke basketball alum, has received numerous honours in recent years.
Jared McCain, a sharpshooting Duke basketball player, was inducted into the SLAM Summer Classic’s Hall of Fame over the weekend.

McCain averaged 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steals while scorching to a 41.4 shooting percentage from beyond the arc on his team-high 5.8 attempts per game. He was selected to the ACC All-Rookie Team and helped the 2023–24 Blue Devils advance to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.

Then, in the NBA Draft, he was selected with the 16th overall pick. The California native averaged an outstanding 15.4 points per game and won the league’s Rookie of the Month award for November before sustaining a season-ending knee injury in his debut season as a professional.

In his 23 games last season, Jared McCain, who is still only 21 years old, contributed 2.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He made 87.5 percent of his shots from the line, 38.3 percent from beyond the arc, and 46.0 percent from the field.
