Duke Basketball Staff Visit Leads to New Five-Star Battle

Duke basketball has added another standout from California to its 2026 recruiting board: power forward Christian Collins.

Back in July, Brandon McCoy Jr.—ranked No. 2 overall and the top point guard in the 2026 class per 247Sports—received an offer from Duke and visited the program officially in early November. Now, his St. John Bosco (Calif.) teammate and fellow five-star, Christian Collins, has also earned a spot on Duke’s radar.

Currently ranked No. 5 overall and the top power forward in the class, Collins shared news of his offer from head coach Jon Scheyer on social media Tuesday evening. The offer came the same day Duke recruiters visited St. John Bosco to evaluate the 6-foot-8, 200-pound forward in person.

About seven hours after going public with the Duke offer, Collins revealed that Kentucky had extended one as well. His growing list of offers also includes Alabama, Arizona, Kansas, Louisville, UCLA, USC, and Villanova, among others.

Together, Collins and McCoy represent 40 percent of Duke’s known 2026 recruiting targets at this stage.
