Four UNC Asheville men’s basketball athletes have been named to the NABC Honours Court.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) revealed the 2024-25 NABC Honors Court selections on Thursday, July 17, with UNC Asheville men’s basketball earning a program-record four honorees: Connor Dubsky, Fletcher Abee, Greg Gantt Jr., and Jemal Davis.

The NABC Honors Court celebrates junior, senior, and graduate student-athletes in men’s basketball who maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher during the academic year. The NABC annually acknowledges academic achievement across all divisions of college basketball.

“Education is one of the five core values of the NABC,” said Executive Director Craig Robinson. “We’re proud to highlight the academic excellence demonstrated by these student-athletes and the programs that support them. Their commitment in the classroom, alongside their coaches and support staff, deserves recognition.”

In total, more than 2,400 players earned a spot on the Honors Court, with nearly 400 programs receiving NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2024-25 season.

Among Asheville’s honorees, Fletcher Abee stands out as a three-time Honors Court selection. Holding a 3.83 GPA as an Interdisciplinary Studies major, Abee was named the Big South Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned a spot on the Big South All-Academic Team, College Sports Communicators All-District Team, and Division I-AAA Scholar-Athlete Team—each for the third time. On the court, Abee appeared in 30 of 32 games this past season, scoring 304 points and shooting a Big South-best 43.4% from three—ranking 11th nationally. He tallied a season-high 27 points against Central Arkansas (Nov. 24), tying his career high with nine 3-pointers. Abee concluded his career with 341 made threes, including 202 at Asheville, which ranks him sixth in school history.

Greg Gantt Jr. earned his second Honors Court selection after playing all 32 games with 27 starts in his final season. The 6-foot-8 forward contributed across the board with 106 assists to just 52 turnovers—ranking fourth in the Big South in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0) and eighth in assists (3.3 per game). Gantt also grabbed 196 rebounds (6.1 per game, second on the team) and added 132 points (4.1 per game) while logging 27.4 minutes per contest.

Jemal Davis, in his only season with the Bulldogs, saw action in 31 games and started five. He played 411 minutes, averaging 13.3 minutes and 3.6 points per game.

Connor Dubsky appeared in 28 games with five starts during his debut season at Asheville. He scored 125 points on the year, averaging 4.5 points per game.

The quartet’s recognition marks a new single-season high for the UNC Asheville program in NABC academic honors.
