Everyone should be on school right now, working hard on their academic and athletic summer projects, in our opinion. All except Nik Khamenia, who has been in Switzerland with Team USA. We’re thrilled for him and Duke’s future. He should greatly benefit Duke because he is a smart, hard-nosed basketball player. But what was it that attracted him to Duke? Jon Scheyer, who left a lasting impact, might have been the decisive factor in the end. Recently, he stated the following of Scheyer:
“In the end, I believe he is just a fantastic coach for players.” And he seems like the ideal fit for guys who don’t mind being tutored. Kelly Flagg’s statement on Scheyer, according to which she had “all the confidence in the world that Cooper could do this with the right team and with the right coach…,” is directly related to this. We adore Duke and everything that they stand for. It’s quite amazing what Jon is creating with that application.
Cooper “would run through walls for that man,” she added. Speaking of Khamenia, the United States defeated Germany 109-76 on Sunday to win the championship.
