It appears that Duke basketball senior forward Maliq Brown finds some of his own qualities in the varied game of Blue Devil freshman wing Dame Sarr, at least in terms of disruptor-boosting physical attributes and defensive instincts. After Blue Devil junior guard Caleb Foster asked the 6-foot-9, 225-pound Virginia native and former ACC season steals leader at Syracuse which new teammate has impressed him the most during Duke’s first three weeks of summer workouts, Brown commented, “I mean, his wingspan, he’s got some long arms,” regarding the 6-foot-8, 190-pound Sarr on the most recent episode of The Brotherhood Podcast.

“He’s got that feel for the game scoring at will, locking down on defense, and throwing dimes off ball screens. He’s the total package,” one insider raved.
Meet Sarr, the 19-year-old Italian sensation from Oderzo, Treviso, who’s turning heads as part of Jon Scheyer’s elite2025 Duke recruiting class. After dominating with FC Barcelona, he exploded for 17 points and 4 rebounds with Team World at the Nike Hoop Summit and the hype is now off the charts.
It hasn’t even been six weeks since Dame Sarr made her commitment to the Blue Devils. Maliq Brown, 21, the most seasoned ACC player on the loaded 2025–26 team, gave Sarr good marks, indicating that his transition to collegiate life has gone well and that he has a great chance to succeed right away.
