It is possible that the former big guy from Kentucky is moving.
There always appears to be a former Kentucky Wildcats player on any squad within the NBA. It demonstrates how many NBA players have graduated from Lexington and are currently having a significant influence on teams throughout the league. Currently, former Kentucky big man Nick Richards is being mentioned as a possible trade candidate. Several teams have contacted the Phoenix Suns regarding Richards’ availability, according to Evan Sidery.
Brett Siegel also claims that the Los Angeles Lakers have discussed a trade for Richards, albeit this was before it was announced on Wednesday that Deandre Ayton would be joining the team.
For a team in need of a reliable centre, Richards would be a relatively affordable trade option, considering he is just owed $5 million this coming season.
Last season, the former Wildcat averaged 8.2 rebounds and slightly under 10 points per game (9.5). Richards would be a good choice if the Suns decide to let him go before the next season, even if they were a very terrible team overall last season. We’ll see how things work out, but it’s highly doubtful that the Suns will let go of Richards just yet.
