D’Angelo Russell, an NBA free agent, has chosen where he will play in 2025–2026.

One of the most well-known point guards available as a free agency was D’Angelo Russell, who has found a home with the Dallas Mavericks, a team that was undoubtedly in need of a lead guard.

Following the Mavericks’ consideration of players like Malcolm Brogdon and others, it was generally anticipated that this would end. It is said to be a $13 million, two-year contract. Dallas is trying to be a serious contender this season despite moving Luka Doncic last year, but they will need a quality replacement for Kyrie Irving, who will miss at least the first half of the season due to an ACL tear. They were still able to perceive Dallas as a team worth watching after selecting Cooper Flagg with the first overall pick in the NBA Draft and pairing him with Anthony Davis.

D’Lo averaged 12.6 points and 5.1 assists with the Brooklyn Nets and LA Lakers last season. However, after being steady at over 41% in each of the previous two seasons, his three-point shooting suffered a huge plunge, falling to 31.4%. Russell has a lifetime average of 17.3 points, 5.7 assists, and 36.5% from beyond the arc.
