The California combo-guard is a highly sought-after gem in the class of 2026 and a 5-star recruit.
Big Blue Drew Brown Since 2017, Drew has covered football and basketball at the University of Kentucky for SB Nation’s A Sea Of Blue. With one of the top players in the class of 2026, Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats seem to be in a terrific position. Jason Crowe Jr., who stands 6′ 3″ and weighs 170 pounds, is rated as a 5-star prospect by all major services. He is ranked as the fifth-best prospect in the nation overall and the third-best combo-guard in the class by 247 Sports. With an average of 23 points per game while competing on the Nike EYBL circuit, Crowe has been dazzling the AAU scene this spring and summer. He has a reputation for scoring goals and having a quick motor.
Many of the top collegiate basketball players will be vying for the services of the Inglewood, California, native. Involved in the recruiting effort are Alabama, Baylor, Texas, and USC, with many more likely to join. In a great, open conversation with KSR’s Jack Pilgrim, Crowe dissected the most recent information regarding his hiring.
“Unquestionably, Baylor, Texas, USC, Kentucky, and Alabama.” All they want, really, is a confident guard who can go and isn’t always required to run plays and facilitate them. He informed Pilgrim. As far as acquiring Crowe is concerned, Kentucky will have a clear edge. It may surprise you to learn that his father, Jason Crowe Sr., was a teammate of current Kentucky assistant coach Jason Hart at Inglewood High School. It is not surprising that Jason Jr. and Jason Hart share a unique affinity, given the two have remained close friends throughout their lives.
“There are people there who you know are there to aid you, and you know how they move. It certainly gives me a new perspective on Kentucky to have him there. Crowe clarified, adding that he intends to make an official trip to Kentucky.
Crowe participated in the U19 USA Basketball Training Camp, which is significant. In addition to being beneficial for his growth as a player, this experience gave Mark Pope the chance to receive practical teaching time. Pope has already demonstrated that he has the resources to close a large recruit, so spending non-traditional one-on-one time with Crowe in Colorado could be quite beneficial when it comes time to make a decision.
