UK guard Jaxson Robinson has been cleared for contact, and Jay Bilas thinks he might be drafted.

Everyone loves a feel-good ending in sports and Jaxson Robinson could be on the verge of one as he awaits his name to be called in next week’s NBA Draft.

According to ESPN’s Jay Bilas, Robinson has a solid shot at being selected thanks to his elite shooting skills.

“I think Jaxson Robinson, because of his ability to shoot the ball and shoot it from deep, has a very good chance of getting drafted,” Bilas said during a recent media call.

Robinson was in the middle of a strong season before a wrist injury cut things short. In 24 games, he averaged 13 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 28.1 minutes per game, while shooting 46.2% from the field and 45.7% from three-point range in SEC play. One of his standout performances included hitting four threes in a big road win at Tennessee.

Per Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic, Robinson an Oklahoma native has recently been cleared for contact and has either met or is scheduled to meet with several NBA teams, including the Kings, Warriors, Suns, Lakers, Cavaliers, and Celtics.

Though he’s currently ranked No. 65 in ESPN’s latest draft rankings, Robinson’s knockdown shooting could be the X-factor that earns him a spot on draft night.

The NBA Draft is set for Wednesday and Thursday on ESPN.
