A Lynchburg, Virginia native, McKay was a standout at Liberty Christian Academy, where he was a four-year varsity player and served as team captain for three seasons. Basketball runs in the family his father, Ritchie McKay, is Liberty’s head coach, and his brother Luke works as the Flames’ video coordinator.

Now transitioning from player to coach, McKay brings a high basketball IQ, strong leadership skills, and a competitive mindset to the Kentucky program.
