Kentucky shows interest in Josh Howard’s son, emerging standout Bryson Howard.

Bryson Howard is drawing serious attention from top-tier college basketball programs, with the Kentucky Wildcats among those expressing interest.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound guard from Heritage High School (TX) impressed during the NCAA’s first live evaluation period, putting up standout numbers for Pro Skills Elite in the Nike EYBL U16 circuit. He averaged 26.8 points per game, shot 42.3% from three-point range (11-of-26), and contributed 4.8 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game.

As reported by Jacob Polacheck of KSR+, Kentucky assistants Alvin Brooks III and Mikhail McLean contacted Howard after a recent showcase to show their interest. Although the Wildcats haven’t offered a scholarship yet, their outreach suggests they’re closely tracking one of the 2026 class’s fastest-rising stars.

Other programs already showing interest include Tennessee, Georgetown, Houston, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma, with Kentucky now joining the mix.

Howard’s potential is even more compelling given his lineage he’s the son of former NBA All-Star Josh Howard, who spent much of his career with the Dallas Mavericks.

With NBA heritage, strong scoring ability, and rising attention from elite programs, Bryson Howard is shaping up to be a key name to watch in the 2026 recruiting class.

While major recruiting services haven’t fully evaluated him yet, On3 currently lists him as a 3-star prospect.
