Braydon Hawthorne pledges to play basketball for Kentucky.

Good day, BBN!

And what a great one it is for the Kentucky Wildcats!

Mark Pope added another key piece to his 2025 recruiting class last night by landing 4-star wing Braydon Hawthorne.

Hawthorne, a standout from Huntington, West Virginia, chose Kentucky over Duke, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.

Standing 6-foot-8 with a 7-foot-3 wingspan, Hawthorne brings versatility and length to the roster. He’s ranked No. 33 overall and the No. 10 small forward in the class of 2025.

While it’s too early to predict exactly what role he’ll play next season, his addition certainly strengthens Kentucky’s depth and flexibility.

Hawthorne shared his thoughts on the decision:

“I have a great relationship with Coach Pope and the staff. We’ve had many talks about both basketball and life. I’ve been a Kentucky fan my whole life. This means everything to me.”

Looking forward to seeing how his journey in Lexington unfolds!
