Liverpool must not let their guard down against Leicester City and need to secure all three points to stay on track in the Premier League title race, according to Reds expert David Lynch.
The Reds are just two wins away from clinching the title, and if Arsenal drop points against Ipswich Town on Sunday, Liverpool could seal the championship that same day with a win over Leicester.
Manager Arne Slot will be aiming to capitalize on Leicester’s poor form—currently sitting 19th in the table and facing relegation if they can’t beat the league leaders at the King Power Stadium.
Speaking to Sports Mole, Lynch emphasized that Liverpool have no excuse not to win. “You might say there’s been a slight uptick for Leicester—they ended a nine-game losing streak with a draw—but this is a favorable matchup for Liverpool, even away from home,” he said. “Leicester have been dreadful this season. Frankly, I’m surprised they’re not below Southampton in the table. Southampton, in comparison, have shown a bit more.”
“Leicester did notch a few wins earlier in the campaign, but aside from that, they’ve been dire. While it’s true you can’t overlook any team in the Premier League, this is one Liverpool should win—and win comfortably.”
Leicester’s only bright spot recently was a 2-2 draw with Brighton on April 12, after previously losing nine straight games while scoring just once.
