Two Teams Are Listed as Possible Landing Places for Chris Pau
Veteran point guard Chris Paul, currently with the Phoenix Suns, is likely to become one of the most sought-after free agents this offseason. Two teams have emerged as potential landing spots for Paul: the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks.
The Lakers present a compelling option for Paul. Residing in Los Angeles, Paul would have the advantage of staying close to his family. Additionally, he could potentially reunite with longtime friend LeBron James, creating a strong veteran presence alongside Anthony Davis. This move would fulfill the “banana boat” prophecy of Paul and James playing together in the NBA.
The New York Knicks are also considered a strong contender. The Knicks have shown significant improvement, reaching the second round of the playoffs this season. Adding Paul could provide the veteran leadership and playmaking skills needed to push the team further in their playoff aspirations .
Other teams like the Golden State Warriors and the Phoenix Suns themselves, if they decide to re-sign him on a lower contract, are also in the mix, but the Lakers and Knicks stand out due to their combination of market appeal, competitive rosters, and personal connections.
