Poised and Promising: Jaland Lowe Shines in G League Elite Camp Debut
Kentucky Wildcats transfer commit Jaland Lowe made a strong statement in Game 1 of the NBA G League Elite Camp, showcasing poise, playmaking, and polish in a high-stakes setting.
The 6-foot-2 point guard filled the stat sheet with 9 points, 5 assists, 1 rebound, and just 1 turnover in 18 minutes of action. He shot 4-of-8 from the floor, including 1-of-3 from beyond the arc, and finished with a +15 plus/minus — the highest mark in the scrimmage — as his team pulled off an 89–85 win.
Lowe’s performance drew praise from Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Sweeney, who noted that Lowe “had his way getting into the paint, made good decisions with the ball, and looks to have added some muscle.”
Now with Kentucky following his transfer from Pitt, Lowe’s standout debut is an encouraging sign of what he might bring to Mark Pope’s up-tempo system. With elite court vision and a steady hand under pressure, Lowe looks ready to make an immediate impact in Lexington.
More scrimmages await, but if Game 1 is anything to go by, the Wildcats may have landed a hidden gem in the backcourt.
