As he searches for the fourth club of his career, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has asked clubs whether they would like “a bit of the Ox.”
The midfielder’s time at Anfield came to an end, but not before he had already mentioned a potential comeback—but only as a member of the opposition team.
He had a target in mind, which was to dribble past Virgil van Dijk for the first time. We wish him success! He had no idea then, nor does he now, with which club that may be.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Oxlade-Chamberlain is prepared “to seize” the chance when it presents itself and is not afraid to advocate for himself.
“Since it’s a new experience for me, I’m a little hesitant, doubtful, and unsure. However, he told the Mirror that being a free agent was still intriguing.
The only thing I can focus on is expecting something to come up and be ready to seize that opportunity when it comes.
I’m concentrating on getting in shape, being prepared, and seeing who still craves some Ox right now.
The six years the 29-year-old spent with Liverpool were filled with “what if” scenarios after an injury derailed and prevented him from becoming a crucial part of Jurgen Klopp’s team.
It hasn’t satisfied his appetite for achievement at all; on the contrary, it has just fueled his drive to prove a point, which has been a recurring theme throughout his career.
“I still want success, I’ve had a taste of it here, they’ve been the best years ever,” Oxlade-Chamberlain reflected on his time at Liverpool.
“So, if there’s even a remote chance that I can accomplish something similar again, I’d eat your hand off.
“I feel like I need to play somewhere as frequently as I can. At 29, they say you’re approaching your peak, so I want to go test myself and play somewhere regularly.
I still feel like I have a lot of energy and games left in me, and I’m still hungry. Although I dislike making claims to support them, it has always been my stance.
“I felt like that ever since I went to Arsenal. That’s how I felt the first time I went to Liverpool. I had the want to do that as soon as I entered the room. It’s the same once more.
“To show what I’m still capable of doing and to prove to the people out there who I am,”
There have been reports of interest from Premier League clubs but nothing concrete has yet arisen for Oxlade-Chamberlain
